Confidential Open Mics

Content

1. Your content must be authentic and original, plagiarism will not be entertained

2. There is no content restriction, you are allowed to speak on any topic under the sun. However Comedy Lounge does not entertain jokes on extremely sensitive topics that are meant to deliberately hurt the public sentiment. The host will interrupt and give a warning if violated. Repetition will lead to being blacklisted from Confidential Open Mics. Comedy Lounge will also not be responsible if you face retaliation from the audience for your jokes

Performance Slots

1. Performance slots will be provided according to first come first serve basis. Performers who have not got a spot in the previous mics will be given priority

2. If you fail to show up for the open mic after getting a slot without informing the moderators atleast 24 hours prior, you will be considered last priority for future open mics 

3. The performers must join the Open mic 30 minutes early and must stay till the end to support other performing artists

4. All performances will be recorded for internal purposes, your content will not be shared without your consent. The same applies in reverse as well, you (or your friends/family) may record your performance for internal purposes, but you may not share it without our consent

5. The open mic is strictly for 1 hr, and so it is important that you do not exceed the 7 min time limit given to you. It is only fair that all performers have equal rights to their time on stage. 

Audience

1. A minimum of three audience members must be invited by each performer. The performer is to ensure that their guests show up, and contributes positively to the Confidential Open Mic by being an engaging and encouraging audience to all the performers performing that evening

2. All guests and performers are required to stay until the end of the show

Tips for a good show

1. Look presentable. It will form a good impression, and add to your confidence while performing

2. Sit against a blank background so that you are visible to the audience and also avoid any kind of distraction during your performance

3. Check your internet connection and mic before connecting, perform from a quiet place and try to avoid background noise

4. Practice your material and be prepared. Keep your material accessible, however avoid reading off the sheet as much as possible

5. Even if you feel like the audience is not responding, keep up the energy. They will enjoy it more than a half-hearted performance

6. We’re trying to buid a brotherhood here, dont be mean, be polite, and generally be nice
