Gautham Govindan is a Kerala-born stand-up comedian whose intelligent observations and relatable storytelling have made him one of the exciting voices in India’s growing comedy scene. Originally from Kerala and raised in Coimbatore after spending his early childhood in Dubai, he brings a unique perspective shaped by different cultures and experiences.
Before becoming a full-time comedian, Gautham built a successful corporate career after studying engineering at NIT Calicut and completing an MBA at IIM Calcutta. He worked with several well-known companies before leaving the corporate world to pursue stand-up comedy full time, often drawing on those experiences for his material.
Since beginning his comedy journey in Bengaluru in 2017, Gautham has become known for his clever writing, playful stagecraft and observational humour. His performances often explore work, family, social behaviour and everyday situations, delivered with a relaxed style and sharp wit that resonates with audiences across India. He has also appeared on Comicstaan and continues to build a strong following through live performances and digital content.
Today, Gautham Govindan tours extensively across India while continuing to create new material for live audiences and online platforms. As a comedian with roots in Kerala and a growing national presence, he represents the next generation of Indian stand-up, combining thoughtful storytelling with relatable comedy that connects across languages and cultures.
